RanaWorks secures first offshore wind assignment

September 2018

Newly-formed RanaWorks has reached a key milestone with the award of a contract for all-round installation support above the waterline during the installation of an offshore windfarm in German waters.

RanaWorks was formed to provide inspection, maintenance and repair services to the North Sea offshore industry in the form of integrated subsea and above-water services. Ultimately the company’s aim is to operate floating maintenance bases, permanently stationed in the North Sea, to offer fast, flexible and efficient solutions to multiple marine asset owners and operators in wind, oil and gas. In the short term the company brings together the expertise and experience of its founders, Rana Diving SpA in Italy and Workships Contractors in the Netherlands.

The contract awarded to the company, its first, covers structural repairs, installation of safety equipment and paint repairs. The work will be executed at height by using working at height and rope access techniques.

RanaWorks commercial manager Rutger Lieverse said “This contract is confirmation of our strategy, that we truly dive deep to rise high. I’m very proud of the commitment and efforts of our team and of the trust we have from our clients. We cover a range of capabilities to offer a cost-effective solution for inspection, maintenance and repair,” he said.
